FAQ
-
What is tufting, anyway?Tufting is a modern rug-making technique where you use a tufting gun to punch yarn through a fabric stretched on a frame.
-
How long does it take? Most sessions run for around 3–4 hours, depending on your design and size you choose.
-
What do I get to make? You’ll create your very own custom rug or wall hanging. Shapes, squiggles, cute blobs or your favorite fruit! The only limit is your imagination (and the size of the frame).
-
What should I wear?Something comfy you can move in and don’t mind getting a bit fuzzy. Yarn is clingy, and glue might sneak onto a sleeve. Aprons are provided!
-
What happens after I finish tufting?Once you finish punching, we’ll help with gluing, backing, and shaving your rug into its final form. Depending on the workshop, you may take it home the same day or finish at a later time.
-
Can I eat or drink during the session? We don’t recommend eating during tufting hours. Your hands will be busy with yarn, glue, and a tufting gun (aka not food-friendly tools). Drinks with lids are okay, but please keep them off the tufting tables to avoid spills on your masterpiece. Snacks can wait till the end – trust us, your rug will thank you.
-
How big can my rug be?We offer four rug sizes to fit your vision – whether you’re keeping it cute or going all out. Pick your size when booking: Keyboard Size: 14” Most Popular: 18” A Whole Mood: 24” Big Enough For Two: 30”
-
Will my rug fall apart after a week? Not on our watch. We teach proper finishing techniques so your piece stays intact and gorgeous. That said, these are handmade, so treat them with love.
-
Do I need any experience to try tufting?Nope! Beginner friendly! Our workshops are designed for first-timers and curious creatives. We’ll guide you through every step. No art degree required.
-
Can kids join the workshop? For safety, tufting is best suited for ages 12 and up.
-
Is it messy?Let’s just say: wear clothes you don’t mind getting fuzzy. Yarn gets everywhere, but we provide aprons.
-
Can I make a functional rug I can walk on?Yes! Though keep in mind that hand-tufted rugs are best for low-traffic areas or decorative purposes. Want something tough enough for muddy boots? That’s more industrial territory.
-
What’s included in the workshop? All materials, tools, guidance is included.
-
Do you offer private or group bookings?Yes! We love hosting birthdays, team days, events, and any excuse for a crafty time. Contact us to book your custom session.
-
Is tufting hard on the hands or arms? It’s not strenuous, but it does require a bit of focus and grip. We’ll give you breaks, help with tricky spots, and make sure you’re comfy throughout.
-
Do you offer gift cards?Yes! Give the gift of good vibes and DIY fun. Perfect for birthdays, holidays, or just because.
-
How far in advance should I schedule my workshopWe recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date and rug size – especially for weekends or group sessions, which fill up fast! Planning something special (like a birthday, team outing, or private event)? The earlier, the better – 3+ weeks in advance is ideal so we can customize the experience just for you.
